How can I transfer incoming calls to another phone when I am away?

Also how to cancel the call forward after I come back?

Once I use the codes to deactivate call forwarding, guess what happens? My voicemail is partially deactivated ie. callers receive the messagte saying the caller is unavailble, try back later. I have mini-voice mail. Rogers/Fido tech support is looking into this. 

Thank you for the details! That shouldn't happen though. I am assuming basic troubleshooting was already done before you were escalated to the technical support team. Is that correct? If so, I am sure they well get in touch with you as soon as they find a resolution.

I had a problem getting these instructions from FIDO and didn't get a workable solution until my third call.

 

I was finally told:  *21* followed by 1

followed by the 10 digit number 

followed by #

wait for confirmation tone

hang up

 

I tried these and it worked!

 

to deactivate call-forwarding: #21#

To activate call forwarding, you'll need to dial *21* phone number # (E.g. *21*5145145145#).

 

To deactivate it, you'll simply need to dial #21#.

The instructions seem clear, unfortunately my home phone device is malfunctioning and I am waiting for a replacement.  Does the code have to be entered from the actual device, or can I complete this by calling my home phone number and breaking through the voicemail? I would like to be able to receive my calls forwarded to another number during this time when the device is not working.

I want to know where I can find all of my home phone codes are not just for forwarding. Are used to have a list but I can’t find it. Thanks

I would like to know where all the codes are. Like call forwarding, call block and if there’s any other codes. 

I can give you the codes @allanlethbridge! There's actually two types of call forwarding so there's different codes for each Smiley I'll go through everything in detail! 

 

Unconditional call forwarding forwards all calls. It's even available if you have voicemail. Here's how:

 

To activate it: *21*[10 digit number to forward to]#

To deactivate it completely: ##21#

To cancel it but keep the number in memory: #21#

To re-establish with the number kept in memory: *21#

To check the status: *#21#

 

On the other hand, conditional call forwarding is available only if you do not have voicemail. Here's a table with all possible options and codes :
