I am considering purchasing the Motorola Moto One released in October 2018.  Don't know if Fido carries it but hope it is compatible, especially for WiFi calling.  The specs are below.  Thank you.

LTE (FDD):
Bands 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(AWS-1), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 28(700 APT)
UMTS:
850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data Speed:
LTE Cat 4 (150/50 Mbit/s), HSDPA+ (4G) 42.2 Mbit/s, HSUPA, UMTS

According to those specifications, that phone would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for '3G'. With regards to LTE, that phone would have two compatible bands/frequencies. Interestingly, those specifications do not list any compatible 2G bands or frequencies. While the phone lists 700MHz as a compatible frequency, it is using a different portion of that frequency and is not compatible with Band 12. You can verify the compatible bands/frequencies here.

The phone should work on the '3G' and LTE networks. However, coverage depends on compatible bands/frequencies used at your surrounding cellular towers. You can get an idea of your area cellular towers here. You should note that the different bands/frequencies have differing characteristics. For example, the lower frequencies (ie 700MHz) tend to travel farther and penetrate deeper into buildings than higher frequencies (ie 2600MHz) (see graphic here). Depending on your location(s) relative to the cellular towers, the lack of compatible Band 12 (700MHz) could affect the phone's data usability.

With regards to Wifi-calling (and voLTE), it's unlikely the phone will be supported for that/those feature(s) since the phone has not been tested on the networks.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Thank you so much!  This helps me to also look at alternatives😊
