  Welcome to the community!

  Incoming messages (SMS & MMS) from anywhere are not charged while you're in Canada. Note, however, subscriptions text messaging services would incur a charge for those services.

  If you are outside of Canada, incoming SMS are also not charged. However, the data within a MMS would be considered roaming data and will likely incur the daily Fido Roam charge.
