Lost my phone

Hi, My phone was stolen while I am in Spain.

I blocked the service for my device.Samsung Android through my Fido company

When I came back to Canada, I will need a new phone and a new sim card.

Is the new sim card free of charge or should I have to buy it?

Can I use in my older Samsung phone?

Can I keep my phone number?

Can I get the sim card at any Fido store or Costco?

Can I reactivate the line at the same place as above.

Sorry to hear that your phone was stolen on your trip away from home.

 


Is the new sim card free of charge or should I have to buy it?

You will need to purchase a new SIM card which cost $10 see here.

 

Can I use in my older Samsung phone?


Sure you can providing the old phone is compatible with the Fido network, if you need help configuring it see here.

 


Can I keep my phone number?

Sure, once you activate the new SIM card on the account your phone number remains the same.

 

Can I get the sim card at any Fido store or Costco?

You should be able to get the new SIM card anywhere Fido services is being offered. In my experience some third party re-sellers like Costco, Wal-Mart don't like selling just the SIM card. I would advise you to order the SIM online or go to a Fido store.

 


Can I reactivate the line at the same place as above.

You can but like I mentioned above some third party store do not like selling just the SIM card so they will not reactivate it for you.

 

You can purchase the SIM card online and have it ready when you get back and just contact customer service and have them activate the new SIM under your account.

Welcome to the community!

 

If you have an iPhone and had the find my phone feature activated on the phone you can login to your account and try to locate the phone, see here. If you have an Android phone see here.

 

If you reported your phone as lost or stole and the service has been disconnect from the phone you might not be able to locate it.

 

In the event you are unable to locate the phone you can report it as lost through self-serve on fido.ca or using Interactive Voice System (IVR) see here for instructions.
