Just got notified on my email the following: "We’ve shipped your NEW CPO SLEEVE FIDO, FIDOTRISIM, Fido CPO Warranty Information, Apple iPhone 12 Pro 128GB PACIFIC BLUE and ACTIVATION3 ACTIVATION KIT FOR IN-BOX_WCOC update to you on October 19, 2021". I thought the email was a spam/scam email since I haven't done anything with Fido other than paying my phone bill for my line. Anyhow, I now checked my fido account and see a second line has been opened with a phone which includes said iPhone 12. I was indeed hacked! Strange since I wasn't notified of any unauthorized log-in or any prior order emails.
Dilemma: I now see a hefty balance of nearly $1600 remaining in my Fido payment program balance. Firstly, I always pay my bills on time and never fall behind on my payments. I don't want this fraudulent activity to affect my credit score since I do know Equifax monitors Fido for credit ratings. As such, what can be done with this issue? I'm currently on hold with a fido customer specialist. However, I'm very worried about this fraud. Also writing this post as a reference.
