I use prepaid for my phone. Have done so for years. I've even built up quite a credit from unused minutes.
I recently got some offers to upgrade to monthly for just $10 so I called to inquire. I was told that they were discontinuing offering prepaid to new customers and wanted to convert existing ones.
Then I asked about my outstanding credit of $600 and was told that would be lost once I switched over. Not even the $80 from this year would count. That's what I was told along with if I'd called last month I could have kept the credit.
What kind of inducement is that? Even if I called and got a different answer I wouldn't trust it.
How do I escalate this such that I can get something in writing?

I'm in same situation. Paid $100.00 plus tax Nov.1,2024 giving my Acct. $236.00 & find out now I lose all that. Been a loyal Fido customer for many years. Customer rep says because I was on Prepaid, I get a reduced Plan. I sais I would still be offered that Plan & not paid the $100.00 plus tax on Nov.1,2024. I feel cheated & scammed.

Hey @was-happy-till! I hope you're doing well. 🙂
I can confirm that your prepaid balance can no longer be transfered to a postpaid account if you choose to migrate it. We recommend using your balance on your prepaid account before you move it. For more information, you can contact our prepaid department at 1-888-945-3436.
