Hi All,

I need a help to get the waiver from Financing for my mobile which was stolen Iphone 14 Max pro while I was in roaming in India. Likewize finally after 30 days of struggle and escalation (5 times) stated, as the "FIDO SIM is active and SIM was not there while phone stolen, you are not entitle for the replacement ". Which is surprising to me we pay every month including during roaming month CAD 18 for permium device protection for the device. I assume we pay for the phone not for protection of SIM. I finally left FIDO as FIDO could not help, just washed their hand stating Likewize is thrid party, but FIDO forgotten that LIKEWIZE was forced upon us by FIDO only. My phone is in Financing stage, I would like to get waiver for the same, as I dont have the phone and insurance company did not settle my case. It seems a SCAM by FIDO and Likewize, they will harass the customer like this.  I really frustrated and left FIDO very recently. Please help me how to get waiver for my rest of fianancing, as its a hefty sum to pay. Sad Sad

I am reachable on My email  ************************** phone

Appreciate a quick help.

Thanks

Ranjan.

Hello Ranswain,

Sorry to hear your device was stolen. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what concessions may or may not be available to you given your situation.

It is unfortunate you were not aware of Likewize's Terms & Conditions regarding being registered on the network:

As far as I am aware, if the SIM card was removed and another SIM card used when the device was stolen, then the device would no longer be actively registered on the Fido network. To be honest, I don't actually know if roaming usage would be covered either. They may choose not to cover any device abroad.

While it is true that Likewize is the company which provides the Device Protection, no one was forced to purchase that protection.

I understand it might be frustrating having to pay-off the balance of a device which was stolen. However, if that device is still under contract, you owe money on that device. If someone's financed laptop (or other item) is stolen, it isn't on the store selling the item to forgo the remaining balance on the laptop (or item). Unfortunately, you would still be responsible for the outstanding balance of the item.

You should note this forum is community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. If you would like to discuss your situation, you would need to contact customer service. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.

I further understand this is a difficult time and receiving such a bill even more distressing. If you're unable to make full payment on the bill, you might consider arranging a payment schedule. To make an arrangement, you'll need to contact the credit operations team. It should also be mentioned that any arrangement would be at the discretion of the credit operations team. That said, if you have recently left Fido, you would likely be required to pay the full remaining balance as you no longer have monthly services.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
