data only plan for smartphone

I recently got a new data only plan, but can't seem to get third party text app working (whatsapp). On another data plan account with Fido, it worked fine (setup almost 2 years ago). could someone advise if they have had the same problem and what i can do to resolve the issue?

If I understand correctly, you're using a phone with your newest Data Only plan? 

Third party apps require data for usage. That said, Whatsapp and similar services will usually be linked to the phone number, and our recent Data Only plans do not provide the SMS feature. Perhaps that's where the issue comes from! 

Are other apps working fine?
