I was reading a bit last night about this concept... I'm just wondering what Fido has in place to avoid this? Are there things I can do at all?
Sorry if this has been asked a bunch. Just wondering what the current methods are. I have no current reason to suspect it, just want to prevent it

Hello Advocate4Change,
In order to prevent SIM swap fraud, the mobile providers have implemented a system whereby a verification text response is required or else the transfer will not proceed (see here). You can view additional information regarding protecting yourself against this type of fraud here and here.
Hope this helps 😀
Cheers

I'm seeing in those articles there is a way to set up a pin or passcode to change account info to help prevent fraudulent swaps. Does anyone happen to recall, is this something that's automatically done upon sign up, or if you have to take the time to set that up? I've been a member since September but I don't recall... I would definitely do this as an added security measure

Hey @Advocate4Change,
Accounts can be setup with a PIN passcode that is required when you call us or reach out.
You can have this done by contacting us over the methods shown here.
