No Service after changing my plan

I am currently outside Canada and my Fido SIM card is displaying "No Service" after I made a plan change on the website.

Today, I changed my plan to the $35 "3GB Basic Plan", listed under the Data, Talk & Text category/tab (not the one under the Basic tab).

I noticed that this plan includes a stating about "All Data, Talk & Text plans (4G LTE Speeds) include" and I assumed it would support receiving text messages while I am abroad, though I found the naming of this plan a bit confusing.

My phone continues to display "No Service" and I am unable to receive any text messages or calls now. I feel very confused.

I am located outside of Canada and I need to receive SMS. I do not need to make calls or send messages. If the issue is related to the plan changes, what plan should I choose to restore service?  Please give a hand. Thanks

Hello JiayanKong,

Welcome to the community!

Firstly, you should note these forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor would we know the full details of your plan.

I understand that particular plan was listed under Data, Talk, & Text plans. However, I think that plan used to be listed under Basic plans (see here). As mentioned in that post, I'm not sure why that plan was moved over to the Data, Talk, & Text plan listings. That said, the plan is stated as being a Basic plan. Unfortunately, Basic plans do not allow roaming. If that plan is indeed considered a Basic plan, that could explain why you are not able to get service outside of Canada.

**edit** I just checked those plans and it appears as though that 3GB Basic plan has returned under the Basic plans.**

If you would like to verify details of that plan, you would need to contact customer service. I understand you are currently outside of Canada. They do provide a number to call From Abroad.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
