Mobile Phone Sim Card and Tablet

When I use the mobile sim card with the- 9GB plan- on Samsung Tablet to run a ride sharing app, the data usage was too much in comparison to the previous wireless service I had before switching to Fido. Can some one let me know the reason? Is the sim card that I have in my mobile phone with the data plan-9GB- should only be used in mobile phone?

Our Voice & Data plans are made to be used with cellphones, so we unfortunately can't guarantee that it would function correctly in a tablet.

We do have a Data Only plan available for tablet devices, though!
