Data Bytes Usage Interference

Trying to track and limit data usage is more difficult thanks to Data Bytes. Setting a data cap on my phone used to be the best way to limit overages, but since I want to take advantage of Data Bytes when it's most valuable (streaming video on trips, etc...) I can't rely on that system to automatically shut off my data when I want it to. I end up saving all my data bytes sessions until I run out of data first. This is all because Fido does not have a service on their end to cap data until you've conveniently racked up $50 in overages. Their usage messages often arrive late or are missed and are not nearly as helpful as Fido should be.

Hello @cdnplanssuck,

Welcome to the community!

I get where you are coming from in regards to the data bytes throwing off the limit you set on your phone.

Blaming Fido for the added feature of free data is not the way to go, luckily for you and everyone Fido's data usage counter now tracks our data usage in real time. So you can track your actual real time data usage from the Fido app.

Just make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
