This make more sense, because internet service has declined in reliability over the past 2 months, I've installed a range extender and changed back to "auto" channel select.I guess I'll have to go through that again.
I will update, thanks

Ok, after changing channels to a less used channel for both bands, speeds seem more consistent.

I am yet to test download speeds and service on a Saturday.

Regards

Sounds good @AJLoreto

Hello AJLoreto,

  Welcome to the community!

Are you having issues with the 2.4GHz network as well?

Have you verified you're not getting interference from other networks? I previously posted some information regarding possible causes of interference here

Granted, the 5GHz should be affected less interference issues, however, with more and more modems/routers capable of dual networks it does furnish the possibility. You can check whether too many devices are using the same channel with one of the Wifi analyser apps/programs. If you don't have one of those, you can trial a channel change in your modem/router settings to see if the network improves.

Also, you should note that the range of the 5GHz network is usually less than the 2.4GHz network because of the higher frequencies used.

Hope this helps Smiley

Cheers

Did you try restarting the modem?

Of course I did, what would you say something useless like that?
The connection was there, just no internet access!

Hey @AJLoreto !

Can you keep us posted if the reset improves the connection ?
