new customer can get a plan of $34 for 30GB....and it is only for NEW customer. As been a cusotmer with Fido so many years, I couldn't get this plan....I waitted 1 hour to call the customer services representative and want someone to help, they are really useless and rude, they only tell me the offer that I already saw in my account. Tell me something that is not on the WEBSITE. So dispointed, I'm just waiting for the phone to end the contract, then I will leave Fido and go with Fizz as an NEW customer. At least they trade me well, not like FIDO.

Hello MTLFido2023,

  Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear you feel it's unfair not being able to avail of the same promotional offers as new customers. However, incentive promotions are not uncommon. For example, banks often offer better interest rates (for a set period) or even tablets for new customers or their credit cards may offer lower interest rates or special cash-back promotions (also for a set period) for new customers. If one already has an account at that bank or already has that particular credit card, they are not able to avail of those offers.

Customers are certainly able to choose to switch providers. However, as far as I am aware, Fizz Mobile only offers pre-paid services. In addition, they are a regional provider. On the other hand, that particular promotion you note is a post-paid plan and Fido is a nationwide provider. While that type of service may suit your needs, a comparison of offerings might not be relevant.

I'm not trying to influence your decision either way. Only you can decide which option is the best for you.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

So the besst advice to long time customers is to switch to a different company?

Hello Jhamil37,

I understand you might have been a long-time customer with Fido. However, loyalty gestures do not have to equate as cheaper plans. Fido does care about their existing customers. Unfortunately, some customers do not appreciate the loyalty gestures offered. For example, many customers have received offers for free additional data. Sadly, some customers have complained that the amount of free data they were offered was not enough. Alas, in this day and age, loyalty has lost its meaing.

As mentioned, customers are able to choose to switch providers if they wish.

Cheers
