sim card and Fido

In order to use Fido network/service, is it ture that the phone must carry a sim card? If I buy a sim free unlocked phone, can it be used with Fido?

hey i am having a problem here. i need help. i tried to put my fido sim card in a locked bell phone, and it asked for a pin. i tried 2 times with different pins and failed, so i took out the sim card. I put the sim card back into my regular fido phone (sony ericsson vivaz pro), and when i turn it on, it is still asking for the pin. I have 2 attempts left, and wish to not destroy or ruin my sim card. I need help because im not sure what pin to put in, do i put in my PUK? or my regular PIN to get in?

Hello wbk!

While your SIM card is not locked to your phone, it is locked to your line and the services attached to it. You cannot use this SIM with another Fido number, but you can use it with your number in another phone.
