Saving voice mail messages

Is there any way to save voice mail messages permanently so they don't get deleted automatically after 10 days (I believe)? I have a Nexus S, although I don't know if that makes any difference.

Switched from a previous provider i had been with for over 28 years, but the only issue i have is i have saved voice messages to go back to retrieve them and they are not there now this truly upset my opportunity was lost job wise.  How do i get fido service voice mail that saves standard voice messages that i want to retrieve once saved

Hello Funegurl56,

  Welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to keep voicemails indefinitely. As far as I am aware, the Standard voicemail gets up to 3 messages, each up to 3 minutes in length that can be saved up to 3 days. The Premium voicemail gets up to 35 voice messages, each up to 5 minutes in length that can be saved up to 10 days (see Add-ons, under voicemail).

I believe saved messages would also likely get deleted after the prescribed number of days. If you have one of the Premium voicemail options, a copy of the transcribed voicemail would likely stay on your phone and not get deleted the same way as the actual recordings. However, there are limitations to the Visual Voicemail and/or Voicemail-to-text features (ie transcription limited to English or French?). The voicemail notifications also provide a recording of the message on your phone, though.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hey there dkettle,

It is not possible to save them for a longer period of time in the voice messaging feature. You may choose to record a message with a recording device.

Hopefully this helps!

Thanks. A little disappointing. I wonder if there's an Android app that could record messages (and conversations) and save them as audio files, though. Seems like it should be technically possible.

I would definitely suggest taking a look! Perhaps there is something that can save it as mp3 format and then you can simply transfer it to a computer...

If you find anything, let us know!
