Samsung S21 Ultra 5G Exynos 2100, not the Snapdragon 888 as advertised.

I recently did a HUP and went for the Samsung S21 Ultra 5G 512GB version. I had everything set up till I noticed the model number. SM-G998W ( Exynos 2100 version).

I am planning to return the device and request, Fido will send the proper version. Or I can go into a dealer to get a proper version.

Hello Hacker88,

  Welcome to the community?

Does the device specify that it is using the Exynos chip? The SM-G998W is the Canadian version of the phone. All of the Canadian providers and Samsung Canada would be offering that version.

Are you sure that version is using Exynos? According to here, the Canadian version (SM-G998W) would have the Snapdragon 888 chipset.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hi @Cawtau

Thank you for the clarification. I double checked, and downloaded Geekbench. Confirmed its running the SD888 cpu. Not sure why  when I did a search online it showed the SM-G988W as Exynos chipset.

Otherwise, I am satisfied with this beastly phone.

Cheers.
