Recovering Deleted text messages/imessage

A few months back I lost a text message/iPhone message that I need to recover. I have purchased PhoneRescue but it was unable to go back that far (early 2016). Any advice?

Any chance that you have a backup dating from then? If you do, you can restore from back up to retrieve your messages.

  Are the text messages no longer on your device? The mobile providers do not keep a record of your text messages. Unless you manually backed up the messages on your device and you no longer have the messages on your device, there is unfortunately no way to retrieve them.
