Is RCM not working S22 Ultra?

I am trying to activate RCM on my S22 Ultra via the native Samsung messenger as well as the Google messenger app to no avail and im looking for some assistance.



- One UI 5.1, Android v.13, all apps updated.

This is what i have already tried

- Samsung app

settings > chat setting...the "use nickname" "nickname" fields are not present.


- Google app

Messages settings > rcs chats... all fields are greyed out and none selectable.

Messages setting > Advanced > phone number (filled in with my number).

  Welcome to the community!


  Sorry to hear you're having issues with activating RCS messaging on your device. Had you previously been using RCS messaging on a different device? If so, you may need to disable the service on your old device first (see here). If you no longer have your old device, you might be able to use their deactivation service.

Hey Cawtau,

Thanks for the assistance! I followed the deactivation process and followed it up by clearing the data and cache in the Messenger app and it worked!! I get i was activated on my old device.
