How to transfer IMEI of used phone to your account

Is it possible to have the IMEI number of a used phone you purchased be added to your fido accout.

I have a bring your own phone plan from fido iwth a fido sim card.

Reason I am asking this is so that the previous owner cannot report the phone stolen (insurance fraud) then have the ohone blacklisted after i've purchased it.

Hi @dtaurasi,

Once you use the phone with a Fido SIM card they can blacklist the IMEI from their end as they can verify the equipment history.

The original user has 60 days after their last usage to blacklist the phone. The seller can blacklist it within the first 60 days to prevent any usage on the device, but after 60 days this cannot be done.

Once you make a private purchase you will have 60 days of uncertainty.
