3G connectivity problem - HTC Wildfire European model

Hi

I'm in exchange in Toronto for one year. I chose Fido because I didn't want to buy a new phone here.

Unfortunatly, my HTC Wildifre, although unlocked, isn't able to connect to Fido 3G network. I'm forced to use the Edge network, and it's annoyingly slow...

My APN settings seem to be ok:

APN: fido-core-appl1.apn

MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca

MMS proxy: 205.151.11.13

MMS port: 80

MCC: 302

MNC: 370

APN protocol IPv4/IPv6

I also had to force international data roaming to be able to connect to the network (my phone is in roaming mode).

Could it be a frequency problem ?

HTC Wilfire frequencies:

GSM: 850/900/1800/1900

UMTS: 900/2100

Hi Simonkth,

I regret to inform you that you will not be able to access 3G on your phone since it uses different frequencies than those used by Fido.

Our 2G and 3G frequencies are on 850 mhz and 1900 mhz. It is normal that you will only be able to connect to 2G.
