going on holidays

going in 4 weeks on holidays for 3 months and I am in a month to month plan.

I do not want to pay for the month plan as I will be not using the cell phone in my trip.

Do they charge something for keeping it suspended until I come back an reactivate my month subscription? Can I still have the same phone number?




Hey @donjuan1962! If you have a postpaid plan, we do offer a temporary suspension of 2 to 12 months for a reduced monthly rate of $7 per month. That allows you to keep your phone number as well as your plan. 

A few things to note:

  1. You need to have been with Fido for a minimum of one month and must not be in a contract.
  2. The suspension and the monthly suspension fees will take effect on the last day of your current billing cycle.
  3. You will have to pay for it up-front unless you have a pre-authorized payment setup.
  4. If you are on the Fido Payment Program you will continue to pay your monthly device cost during the suspension.

If you're eligible for the temporary suspension, you would need to contact customer service to have it set up.
