What kind of deals will be available for boxing day week?

I am currently on a Fido plan without a device ($45 for 5GB). I want to add a device now. I have been told I missed a Black Friday deal of $35 for 4GB. Will a similar deal be available in the coming boxing day week?

I am interested in iPhone 12 Pro 128GB Gold but there is no discount on downpayment or the monthly payment. Can I get some discount on this in the boxing week?

I want to lower to a plan like $35 for 4GB and add the phone that I am interested in.

Also is there a way to get iPhone 12 Pro 128GB Gold with US model number A2342 instead of Canadian model A2410. The reason I want the A2342 is that I want to travel to regions where CDMA support is needed. Also, I want to future proof myself by having the 5G mmWave bands n260 and n261 available in the US version.

Based on my research, the US version has all the capabilities of the Canadian version plus CDMA support but lacks support for FDD-LTE bands 11 and 21. Does anyone know if these bands are currently being used by Fido?

Hello Ali99947,

  Welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, no one will know what promotions will be available for the run-up to Christmas or Boxing Day before they are actually advertised. You will need to keep an eye on Fido.ca for the upcoming promotions.

With regards to obtaining a US version of the iPhone 12 Pro Max (A2342 refers to Pro Max), you would need to source that device yourself. None of the Canadian mobile providers will be able to provide one for you. As far as I am aware, these are the specifications for that version:

  • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
  • UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
  • CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz)
  • FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 66, 71)
  • TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 48)
  • 5G NR (Bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n25, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n71, n77, n78, n79)
  • 5G NR mmWave (Bands n260, n261)

According to those specifications, that version would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for the networks. You can verify the compatible bands/frequencies here. It should be noted that Rogers intends to decommission the 2G GSM network by the end of the year (see here).

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
