Wealthsimple 50$ promo code not working (Fido xtra)

Hi

I am trying to signup to Wealthsimple and use the Fido Xtra promo code (Valid till March 4).  I click on the link in the app and it takes me to a Wealthsimple signup page which references the Fido promotion. 

When I enter the promo code, I get "The promo code you entered is invalid" I am definitely typing it in properly and even cut/pasted the second time to be sure.   No go. 

Any ideas? I called Wealthsimple and was told I should check with Fido ..
