  • Dear Fido Customer Service,

    I hope this email finds you well.

    I am writing to urgently address an issue regarding my account (Fido account number: 951). IXXXX previously requested the termination of my service and the cessation of bill generation, but I have not received any confirmation or response regarding this matter.

    Despite my earlier communication, I have noticed that interest charges are still being applied to my account, and bills continue to be generated. This is causing me undue stress and inconvenience. I had already emailed to terminate my phone services temporarily. I'm willing to pay the settlement amount as soon as I return to Canada. But my bill has been continuously generating from $200 approximately to $960 plus interest. I will not pay this amount. Kindly send me a settlement amount and I will pay it as soon as I reach Canada or provide me an alternate solution for this matter.

    I kindly request that you take immediate action to:

    1. Stop all interest charges being applied to my account.
    2. Cease the generation of further bills.

    Please treat this matter with the urgency it deserves. I would appreciate a prompt response to confirm that these actions have been taken.

  Firstly, you should note these forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts nor be in any position to consider your matter.

  As far as I am aware, Fido does not offer customer services via email so I'm not sure to whom you previously contacted. In addition, it is not possible to terminate services temporarily. While they do offer a temporary suspension, that option is not completely free of charges (see here and here). 
 

  In addition, I'm not sure they charge interest on amounts owing. However, they do charge late fees (see Terms of Service; section 3c). In addtion, they may also charge a suspension fee if services are suspended for non-payment (see here).

 

  I understand you may be currently outside of Canada. However, if you would like to address your situation, you would need to contact customer service. They do provide a number you can call from abroad. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.
