I currently have an iPhone 5 and I plan to upgrade to a Galaxy S5. I plan to buy the phone outright so it shouldn't matter if the plan I currently have is an "iPhone" plan. Just buy the phone and swap the SIM card, right? I just don't want to lose my 6GB data plan.

The only the "iPhone" about your "iPhone plan" is the name of it for marketing purposes.

Once your buy your phone outright, you can use any plan you want as long as you are not under any contractual obligation. Since you want to keep your "iPhone plan" with 6GB, there is no issue. The only thing you need to do is buy a MicroSIM because the iPhone 5 takes the Nano Sim. I'm assuming the S5 will follow suit with the Micro SIM like the S4. Also, when you acquire your S5, call Fido to add the IMEI to your device list. Hope this helps Smiley
