Transfer phone number and contract to another line on same account

I have a phone line with a phone contract. I see in my account a very good plan for adding a 2nd line to my account.

Question: once the 2nd line is added, can I transfer my phone number and the phone contract from first line to the new 2nd line as the plan is very good. I don't care about loosing my first plan as the 2nd plan is very good.

Welcome to the community!

  Unfortunately, I do not believe what you're hoping to accomplish is possible. The plans are associated with the phone number. As far as I am aware, phone contracts are also linked to the line and not necessarily account. I don't think either are transferrable.

  I understand the second line plan is appealing. One of the reasons they are attractive is that there are often discounts for a second line. While you might be able to get the second line, you would need to keep the new phone number and likely need to pay the balance of your financed device if you cancelled the original line (see here). In addition, if you cancel your first line, you would likely lose any discounts for that second line since you would only have one line.
