Hi Fido,

Someone is spoofing my and my My wife's number!

I started getting calls from random people saying that they have missed our calls, but we didn't make any calls to them from our cell phones. Need solutions for this otherwise we have to change our numbers and providers.

Hello @evanyao,

I can understand how alarming this can be. However, I don't think changing your number or provider will resolve this issue.

No provider or number is immune to number spoofing, the carriers are working on a new technology STIR/SHAKEN (Secure Telephone Identity Revisited/Signature-based Handling of Asserted Information Using Tokens) to combat these number spoofing.

It was supposed to be implemented by September 2020 but according to this article here, the providers are saying that very few people would actually have phones that would benefit from it and wants to push it to 2022.
