i got this a few years ago 1gb, then 10gb 16 months ago *15 month limit), last dec 2022 5gb. therefore, i have 1gb +5gb free unless change of plan.

I wondered the same.  To confirm, I went to fido.ca manually, logged in, and then when I went to My Account a pop-up came up with the same offer, so I accepted it there.  So it does seem like it was likely legit, but I think accepting it via your account rather than text link is safer anyway, just in case.
