Can't access sites by IP address on mobile data

When connected to mobile data any requests to sites by IP address such as http;//8.8.8.8 fail immediately with err address unreachable. This means games like Pokemon GO also fail to work on mobile data as well as tools like SSH and FTP.

The only way I've been able to play is by connecting to wifi and then switching over to data which keeps the connection going but causes me to be unable to play after any crashes if I'm not in range of wifi.

Why might this be happening? It doesn't happen on wifi.

Are you setting up a custom DNS and using Google DNS servers? Can you try your games without the custom DNS and see if it works if it does then there is no issue with the Fido connection and it will be an issue with your configuration.

What is the make and model of the phone you are using?
