Not getting 150Mbps

Hi

I just signed up for Fido 150u   service after being on a 100Mbps plan with another cable  ISP.

I installed the new Fido CGN3 modem yesterday.

Unfortunately   wired speedtests   never get over 95Mbps. 🤔

I called support and they   closed my ticket   saying nothing is wrong. ☹️

I am paying more   but not getting the service.😢

I need 150Mbps for   work purposes.

What are my options?

Thanks all!

Justin

Hello @JustinYOW,

Is there any splitters on your line if so try removing it and see if it helps, it also could be congestion with so many people working from home and children doing home school.

Hi   @KAPABLE-K

Thanks for your suggestion.

I only have   the one   coax cable   going to my  modem.

No   splitters.

Hey @JustinYOW Smiley

Sorry to learn that you're not getting the highest upload speed possible for your Home Internet service.

As @KAPABLE-K pointed out, some congestion can be expected at the moment due to most people working and studying from home.

This is the highest speed we currently offer, but you can always reach out to our Home Internet Tech support team again for further troubleshooting.

You can also find tips to optimize your speed here !

Hi   guys.

Resolved this myself so want to share   if   it helps others.

  1. Check the ethernet cables you are using  -   connect   directly from your PC to the modem and do your test;
  2. Check your   router if you are   using  the   Fido  modem in  bridge mode;   I  isolated the  slow down to the router
    1. Turn of QoS (you don't need this if you are at higher bandwidths); this fixed things for me 😁

Hope this helps

Thanks all!
