I recently opened a new account for my fido internet, and would like to cancel my existing fido internet (currently under another person's name). I've received the new modem from Fido already, but my question is can I continue to use the old modem that I'm already using with Fido and return the new one that I just received? Or do I have to switch the modems? It would make life easier if I could just keep it as is, as it's already working fine and return the new modem.

Although I do understand it would make things simple for you to keep the same modem, a Home Internet account is always linked to one specific modem serial number.


Therefore, you'd need to use the new modem we send for the new account.
