Credit inquiry when Fido can’t provide service

I'm a current Fido cellphone customer. When I tried to apply for the internet the website says Fido provide services to the addrsss. But it turns out only Rogers is available to provide the internet service there. However, a credit inquiry was made based on the wrong information. Is there a way to reomove the credit inquiry? Plus, Fido says that it's an internal credit evaluation while it's obviously an external.

Hey there @accountant123,

Welcome to the Community Smiley

The good news is that we use the Rogers network to provide our home internet service, so if Rogers is available in your area, so are we.

In regard to the check, if you already have services with us, it will be done internally. That said, don't hesitate to reach out to us on these channels and we'll be happy to take a closer look.

Hi @FidoSaad

I really want too fido internet, any plans for Quebec Province?

Thanks.

Hello Khouya,

Fido would only be able to offer Home Internet in areas serviced by Rogers Cable. Unfortunately, it does not appear Québec is a major territory for Rogers cable services (see here). If Rogers does not offer cable services where you are located, Fido Home Internet will unfortunately also be unavailable.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hi @Cawtau you refering me a wikipedia public page, thats not a good source.

I'm asking rogers if Fido have plans to expand the internet in Quebec.

Hello again,

Thank you for your opinion regarding that link. However, the service providers have designated territories which tend to be exclusive for a particular service (ie cable). Other than a small area in the Eastern part of the Province, the majority of Québec is not a part of Rogers' territories. Unfortunately, they would not be able to offer services outside of their territories. In addition, they would not be able to expand into the rest of Québec as it would encroach on the other providers' territory. As previously mentioned, if Rogers does not provide services to an area, Fido will also be unable to offer services to that area.

**edit** It's the same reasoning as to why Fido/Rogers Home Internet is not available in some parts of Ontario (or in Western Canada). For example, Hamilton, ON is serviced by both competing providers, Rogers and Cogeco. Certain areas of the city are serviced by one provider, while other areas of the city by the other. However, no area of Hamilton is serviced by both. People living in Cogeco territory are not able to get services from Rogers and vice versa. As such, people living in Cogeco territory would not be able to avail of Fido Home Internet.**

I understand you might not believe the information on that link. You may also view the available service providers in your area here. I trust the CRTC is a better source?

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
