Planning on traveling within Canada this summer? Well we’ve got some awesome news for you! You’ll be able to stay connected in more places at no extra charge thanks to Extended Coverage! Talk and text will work automatically, and to use the Internet just make sure data roaming is turned on in your device settings. If you see an “EXT” or “R” at the top of your phone screen it means you’re using Extended Coverage.
Any talk, text or data you use in an Extended Coverage area is included as part of your current plan and will be billed in the same way as usage on the Fido network.
Keep in mind that Extended Coverage is meant to provide additional coverage in areas you sometimes travel to where you didn’t have coverage before. It does not improve your signal strength within the Fido Network, and it’s intended to be used occasionally. The majority of your monthly usage (talk, text and data) must occur on the Fido network. This service is available to Fido monthly subscribers (Fido prepaid customers, and monthly customers with zone based plans not eligible)
So travel within Canada with your mind at ease and stay connected thanks to Extended Coverage!
