I want to know if redmi note 5 with following specs

4G FDD-LTE
TDD-LTE1/3/5
40/41 (120MHz) 3G WCDMA1/2/5/8 2G GSM2/3/5/8

will work in canada.

Since this is a lot of technical info and being not in this subject, it is hard for me to understand all this.

Thanks

I recently got my mom a Redmi Note 5 global edition and I can report it works great on Fido.

It is a very good phone for the price.

I hear however it will not work on Wind Mobile

Just stick your nano sim in there and you'll be up and running.

Hello Vortex-5,

I'm glad to hear the phone is suiting your mother's needs. However, people should still keep in mind of the phone's potential limitation of no LTE (assuming her's is the same version).

The version listed above won't work on Freedom (previously Wind) because it lacks WCDMA band 4 (1700/2100MHz). That's why it's still best to compare compatible bands/frequencies.

Hope this helps Smiley

Judging by those specifications, that phone would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for 2G and '3G'. With regards to LTE, that phone does not have any compatible bands/frequencies. You can verify the compatible bands/frequencies here. So that phone should work for voice, messages, and '3G' data. However, it will not be able to get LTE data.
