Would changing the data plan on a phone contract make me lose the payment program promotion credit

Fido has just offered me a deal for the Pixel 8a where their payments program promotion credit would essentially cover the cost of the entire phone over two years. I would only need to pay for the data plan. My question is: if I accept this deal, do I have to stay on the same data plan for the full two years to receive the promotion credit? They currently offer $50/month and $45/month data plans. If I choose the $45 plan and they later offer a better data plan, can I switch without losing the promotion credit?

Hello @2xyu,

Since the device financing is separate from the plan any credits/promotions for the device will stay even if you change your plan.

If you have any credits/promotions on the plan you will lose those when changing the plan and if you change to a plan that is not eligible to finance a device then you will have to pay the remaining balance on the device.
