I had a hard time figuring out how to manually set the network settings on my Nokia 515 since Nokia has different wording and file paths for their value fields. I finally figured it out after two full days of trying every single combination and I thought that someone out there might find it useful since I could not find much out there for people using this phone in Canada.
For Internet Settings go to:
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal Settings, then go to Options > Add New > Web
- Account Name: (Could be anything)
- Username: (leave blank)
- Password: (leave blank)
- Use pref. access pt.: No
> Access point sett.
- Proxy: Enabled
- Proxy address: 205.151.11.11
- Proxy port: 80
> Bearer settings
- Mobile data acc. pt.: wap.fido.ca
- Network type: IPv4
- Authentication type: Normal
- Username: fido
- Password: fido
Back > Back > Back (you'll be back at Personal settings)
Highlight the web account you just created then hit option > Activate
For MMS Settings:
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal Settings, then go to Options > Add New > Multimedia msg.
- Account Name: (Could be anything)
- Server address: http://mms.fido.ca
- Use pref. access pt.: No
> Access point sett.
- Proxy: Enabled
- Proxy address: 205.151.11.13
- Proxy port: 80
> Bearer settings
- Mobile data acc. pt.: mms.fido.ca
- Network type: IPv4
- Authentication type: Normal
- Username: (leave blank)
- Password: (leave blank)
Back > Back > Back (you'll be back at Personal settings)
Highlight the multimedia msg. account you just created then hit option > Activate
