Hi! I'm sure questions regarding compatability are asked alot here, I trued to do some digging but couldn't find any results under this model. I'd like to go to a more basic phone and am interested in the folder 2 (2021) or SM-G160N. Would this work with the fido network? Alot of the language used online confuses me and would love verification before buying! Thanks in advance Smiley

Hello @vigrills,

See here for the requirements of the device to work on the Fido network. The model of the phone you listed seems to be old as it was first released in 2017 and had a few years revisioned I don't see any hardware revision on the 2021 version according to the specs here 3g will work but it only has two compatible 4g bands.

For Fido:

Bring your own phone or plan on bringing one? That’s cool. It just needs to be compatible with the Fido network, which uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz.

To access LTE, the device must be compatible with one or more of the following:

  • 700 MHz on Band 12;
  • 850MHz on Band 5;
  • 1900 MHz on Band 2, Band 25;
  • 1700/2100 MHz on Band 4, Band 66;
  • 2600 MHz on Band 7.

Your device:

2G bands GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 38, 39, 40, 41

This device will have a difficult time working on the Rogers/Fido network.
