I'm planning to buy a Samsung phone outsiade of Canada, but unsure if my fido sim card is compatible with it, so I've checked their site and found this:
GSM 850/900/1800/1900
WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100
FDD LTE:B1(2100),B2(1900),B3(1750~1765),B3(1765~1780),B4(AWS),B5(850),B7(2600),B8(900),B12(700),B13(700),B17(700),B18(800),B19(800),B20(800),B25(1900),B26(800),B28(700)
TDD LTE:B38(2600),B39(1900),B40(2300),B41(2500~2690)
It seems like it mostly match what's required for a fido card to work but on band4 it actually says AWS other than 1700/2100 so I'm confused.
Wonder if my fido sim card would work. Thanks!

Hello Gd793,
Welcome to the community!
Judging by those specifications, that phone would have all of the compatible bands/frequencies for all of the networks. You can verify the compatible bands/frequencies here.
Advanced wireless services (AWS) or more specifically AWS-1 in this case is simply another way to describe band 4 or 1700/2100MHz. They all refer to the same set of frequencies.
Provided the phone is unlocked, it should not have any issues on the Fido/Rogers networks. Note however, that some functions -- such as voLTE -- may not work properly with non-Fido branded devices.
**edit** You should also note that there might be different versions of the same model of phone. You might consider verifying the specifications you posted are the same for the actual device you intend on purchasing**
Hope this helps
Cheers
