Hi, I have a Pixel 7 phone (BYOD). I transferred my previous phone number to Fido and according to my Fido account it was completed. I did not receive a confirmation text. When dialing and receiving calls this is going through with the previous phone number (not the temporary one) so that's working. However on my settings page on my Pixel the Sim is still labeled as the temporary number, not my previous number. Concerned this could become an issue since the phone seems to think the Sim still has the temporary number. Thanks in advance.

Hello Kylie8,
Welcome to the community!
From what you note, your calls are getting through on the number you ported to Fido. Is that correct? If that is the case, then the phone number did actually get transferred to the SIM card. If it didn't, you would not be able to make or receive calls with that phone number.
With regards to your phone showing the temporary number, have you tried to re-start your phone after your number was ported in? It's possible the phone only shows the label of the number when it first connected to the network. Re-starting the phone might reset the label with the correct ported phone number.
Hope this helps 😀

Hi, yes that's correct I am making and receiving calls with the number I ported to Fido. I have tried restarting my phone a few times to see if the Sim re-labels with the new number, but it still has the temporary number. I realize most of the issue is taken care of.. but concerned this could be an issue.

Hello again,
From a Google search, it appears the issue you note is rather common. Do you access to an iPhone. Apparently, iPhones and BlackBerries have the ability to edit the number shown on devices by the SIM card. Once edited, replacing the SIM in your device should show the edited number.
If you do not have access to either of those devices, you might consider request customer service push a carrier settings network update to the phone. That may edit the number on the SIM.
If neither of those options work, you might need to opt for a new SIM card. However, there may be a charge for obtaining a new card.
You should note these forums are community-driven and not intended as a venue for customer services. We do not have access to customers' accounts. If you wished to have them push new carrier settings or request a new SIM card, you would have to contact customer service again. In addition, they can also be contacted via Live Chat, Facebook, or Twitter. Those methods can be accessed via the contact page posted above.
Hope this helps 😀
