P999 Question

I'm switching back from WIND mostlikely (I still have one account with FIDO, but I moved one to WIND to try their service), and I bought a P999 Optimus 2X (The t-mobile version of the Optimus 2X, they like to confuse things with similar names)

The WIND website lists the phone as follows:

Frequencies / Bands: 3G (UMTS/HSPA) AWS 1700/2100 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/1900/900/1800

The FIDO Optimus 2X is a P990 and lists the phoen as follows:

Frequencies
HSPA(3G) 850/1900/2100
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
Will my WIND phone be compatible with the fastest 3G FIDO service, or will it only run at 2G?
I need a definitive answer as I'll have to sell my phone (if I can) to make the move of my second account back to FIDO if its incompatible.  I'm no expert when it comes to this frequency stuff.

Thanks in advance

Hi wind-switcher,

Glad to hear that you are coming back at Fido!

Please note that the device you purchased at WIND will only be compatible with our 2G network and will not be working on the 3G frequencies.

Therefore, if you are looking into using the fastest service possible, you would have to purchase a new device during the transfer.

I hope that this will not cause you any trouble Smiley

Feel free to post again if you have any other question!
