LTE on Asus Zenfone 3 ZC551KL (US version)
New to this forum and would appreciate some help.
I am not getting LTE despite checking and making sure I am on APN ltemobile.apn
My phone is showing only 4G and I am sure it's compatible with LTE as it's written on the phone box.
Fido rep told me it's a new sim with LTE, but not getting LTE
I am in East York close to the city.
Any one has the same issue?
Thanks

Hey @Bigbro8 Thanks for reaching out !!
Is there any error message associated to you trying to connect to LTE from this phone?

Hello - No there is no error message. I can browse the web, no issues there; just that there is no LTE showing beside 4G. I ran a speedtest - download 51.18mbps, upload 11.25mbps.
Just wondering if that 4G showing on my phone is in fact LTE.
Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply
To access LTE network, the phone must be compatible with:
My asus has only band 7 2600 mhz; no band 4 or 17.

Where did you find that information? Was it online, or did you check the bands/frequencies available on your phone? Some sources suggest the US (and Canadian) versions of that phone do have all of the compatible bands/frequencies (except B12) (see here). If you indeed have the US version, it should also have bands 4 and 7. It can be confusing because they all have the same model number (ZC551KL).
When you did your speed test, did you take note to which network your device was connected? Some devices might denote LTE as 4G and HSPA+ as H+ (rather than 4G). You should be able to determine the network by going to your phone's status information. Alternatively, there are apps which can inform which band/frequency your phone is using.
Have you verified that your network mode is set to GSM/UMTS/LTE?
Hope this helps

Thanks for getting back to us @Bigbro8
If you see 4G, it's most likely the right network you're connected to. It's still a pretty fast one
Did you check and make sure that the phone is compatible with our LTE bands?
You can find all the details in this thread.
