How can I check my phones monthly data usage history on my account?

The app only shows what you used within the current billing cycle if you want to see a detail view you will find it on your invoice details. Just save/print your invoice and you will get that info, see here to learn how to save your invoice.

poor customer experience, they should allow you to see your entire history easily like home internet plan does.
