Hi,

I'm planning on ordering an HTC J Butterfly (HTL21) from Japan. I would like to know if the following specs will work on the Fido network (Montreal) and if I will have the full LTE experience. Note that these are not the same as the american Droid DNA.

Thanks,

Simo

Bonjour,

Merci,

Simo

The Fido network frequencies are;

GSM/HSPA: 850 MHz &1900 MHZ

LTE: 2100 MHz & 2600 MHz

So, you'll have access to our GSM/HSPA network, but not LTE

Hello Stephane,

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the Droid DNA which has :

  • GSM : 850/900/1800/1900
  • CDMA : 800/1900
  • UMTS : 850/900/1900/2100
  • LTE : 700

Now after reading your reply, I realize it won't work either  Sad

Is Fido planning on expanding its LTE frequencies? All the best HTC phones seem not to have these frequencies...

Thanks,

Simo

Hey everyone!

I just came across this thread and I thought I would provide some updated information in case anyone had a similar inquiry. Smiley

Fido now offers LTE on the 700 MHz frequency of Band 17, however, this is currently only available in select communities in Vancouver, Calgary & Toronto. This means that a device that is compatible with Band 17 will be able to access LTE on the Fido network but this will depend on your location.

Hope this helps!

Hi simobk,

We have not been made aware of any expansions for LTE frequencies. Our website would be updated if ever we do.

You need the HTC One X+.  It runs fine on Fido's LTE network.
