Nov 23, 2023 I called Fido to change plan to get a phone. That was day before black Friday. I had tons of offers, one including from Rogers for better Data, unlimited in case of Rogers, and most other offers were over 100GB up to 200GB.
Anyways I have been with Fido for 18 years. The agent offered me:
65 GB for $45
$10 / month for Pixel 8.
That was after I had decided to leave, she said how about these. I decided to stay.
I made a verbal contract and agreed. In doing that I also lost my plan where I was getting 55GB for $45. There is a long story how I was getting that, but regardless, that is what I had.
The bill arrived with $139.00. I am now getting told the agent made a mistake. Blah blah blah....I was on a plan (Entry) which didn't qualify for a phone, now since I have a phone there is no plan for $45 which is Plus plan. Blah blah.....Are you sure you need that much data? History does not show your usage?
Things I am getting told are so unprofessional. And they want to explain to me all the new plans available? Why? I signed up already.
Just honor the thing I was promised. Fido knows Black Friday is gone, so now they are pushing me.
I would just return phone and cancel plan, but I have been reading forms here where Fido says phone not received and charges $1400.
Maybe I should write to CRTC?

If what you said is true then a verbal agreement was made, I would suggest you ask to speak to a supervisor and if that person can not do anything about it then ask for your case to be sent to the office of the president.
