Hello Bflynn680,

  Welcome to the community!

I think that question might be better suited directed to Amazon. It would seem logical that the app should not use data if a book had already been downloaded. However, there have been reports of the Kindle devices (and app) collecting and sending data to Amazon (see here). The author of that article notes that the simple act of opening the app, reading a book, etc can send multiple requests to Amazon servers. If true, those requests and data sets sent to their servers would be considered data (if not connected to Wifi).

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers

Hello @bflynn680,

If the document you are reading is already downloaded then it will not use data.
