I was checking a price for pixel 9 pro xl 256 gbs and found out that google is selling the device for cad1629+taxes. On the other hand fido is selling the same phone at cad1908+taxes.
Fido says thay they are giving 11.63$ bill credit if we want to sign 24 month contract will bring the price down to cad67.87 for 24 month(1629+tax)
Not to mention google, amazon and bestbuy all are giving 275-300$ gift card for purchasing the device. On the other hand fido is adding 279$ in actual price to make it look like they are giving discount on 24 month contract.
I didn't think i will see this kind of price manipulation from a brand like fido/rogers. Clear case of fooling customers.

Hello Nisarg,
Welcome to the community!
Is this the first time you've considered ordering a device from a provider? Sorry to hear you are not familiar with device pricing from mobile providers. The full device cost is often more when purchased from a provider than direct from manufacturer due to their different suppliers. Unfortunately, it has been this way for a number of years. The full cost for that device (256GB version) is rather similar across the different providers: Virgin Plus: $1910; Koodo: $1905; Telus: $1905; Bell: $1910; Rogers: $1908...
I understand that in this case, the payment program credit only seems to account for the cost differential between the providers and Google. However, in many other cases the credit offered often does provide a discount on the device.
Hope this helps 😀
Cheers
