Its a scam especially for iphone users. Don't get fido insurance as if you break your phone the part will be replaced by fake aftermarket china parts quality will be very bad plus you have to pay $190 for that cheap quality part. Fido should do better than brightstar. I regret my decision of going with fido insurance in the first place. DON’T GO WITH BRIGHTSTAR INSURANCE.

While I can't comment on whether the parts used were genuine iPhone parts, I hate to break it to you, but many of the parts for the iPhones do in fact come from China (see here and here). Just because the parts are from China does not necessarily mean they are not official Apple parts. How do you know the part used was not genuine?

The guy that fixed my phone told me later that they dont use genuine apple parts to repair.
