I received a text message from a phone number talking about the credit for the outage and to click a link to claim. Being a Fido customer for years I know that Fido usually contact via a specific 4 digit number. Also the credit is automatically being applied. Please be careful when it comes to these messages.

Thanks for letting the community know! The providers are doing all that they can to prevent SPAM SMS. You can help by forwarding these messages to 7726 (SPAM) (see here). Once audited, it will be used to augment the SPAM filter. Unfortunately, as fast as these messages get blocked by the SPAM filter, the spammers/scammers find new ways to bypass the filter.
