We have the Fido wireless home phone (VTE device), which offers long-distance to the United States?  Does anybody know: if I took my device with me to the US, would it work (via Fido partner telco there)?

Hello Ydd,

  Welcome to the community!

I understand your wireless home phone plan may include long-distance calls to the United States. However, those calls would need to originate from Canada. Using a device on a US provider's network (or any network other than Fido/Rogers) would be considered roaming. I do not believe roaming would be available on the wireless home phone plans. Even if roaming were available on those plans, additional roaming charges would be applicable.

Hope this helps 😀

Cheers
